 This is the original cover of Ruby Roper's Oriental Photo Album. The front and rear covers are painted wood. It was likely a gift from either John or Thad Roper to their mother. The album is in pieces now. This front cover is off some pages are loose and many of the pictures have either fallen out or were taken out as it passed through many hands before arriving in mine. The pages that are still intact will be digitally photographed and the photos transferred to an archival medium for preservation. The album itself will also be conserved if possible, yet without the photos.

Description:
 1908-10 Home of John Wesley Roper (in front yard in overalls). The young boy to the right of him is my grandfather, William Carroll Roper2. Next, the young girl is William's sister Gail. Standing on the front porch is great-grandmother Nevada (Nunn) Roper, John Wesley's wife. Speculation leads me to believe that the elderly man on the back porch is my great-great grandfather William Carroll Roper1 (he lived with John and Nevada). Note the shadowy figure in the front window to the left of John Wesley. This individual is unidentified. Carrier Mills, Saline County, IL
