Joseph is listed in the 1850 Henderson county, Kentucky census
with his parents.

Joseph Zealot is listed in the 1860 Webster county, Kentucky
census in household #214/210.

In 1880 census in Petersburg District of Webster county, they
have a D. H. Gates living with them. He is 42 and a carpenter
from NC. Also a black servant by the name of Scott Shelton 27
yrs old and from Illinois. D. H. Gates could be Catherine's
brother. His relationship was unknown until I found Catherine in
the 1860 census with Perry Whitsell, and a marriage record for
them in the Henderson county marriage records. Until this time,
Catherine's maiden name was assumed to be Whitsell. (1-24-1999)
