In 1850 Henderson county, Kentucky census in household #305 - last name is mispelled as Hawkins, but the dates of birth match and they have Martha (who died before the next census) listed with them. They are living next door to Gustavus and his brother Stephen Oglesby. Barney is listed in the 1860 Webster county, Kentucky census in household #308/304. According to Barney's son's bio, he was killed near Morganfield in confederate civil war service. (1999) According to the family genealogy manuscript, Barney enlisted in 1863 and was killed near Blues Pond in Union county, Kentucky. (2-28-2000) | ||||||||||||||
